Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists (USFAS) is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice. You’ll work directly with patients, support physicians, and thrive in a fast‑paced outpatient setting.

Hands‑on training and ongoing clinical development are provided, making this a great opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant or someone looking to grow their clinical skills in podiatry and related procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience.
  • CMA or RMA certification preferred.
  • Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred).
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment.
  • Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
  • Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
  • Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting).
  • Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
  • Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
  • Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.

Medical Assistant Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
