Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Assistant in Lafayette, IN to support physicians in examination and treatment of patients.

This contract—full time, 40 hours weekly—offers competitive pay and benefits, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus a 401(k) plan. Candidates should have a high school diploma (or equivalent), knowledge of medical terminology, CPR, and MA program graduation; one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures expected.
• Clerical skills and good telephone communication are required.
• CPR certification and MA program graduation preferred.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in examination and treatment of patients.
• Perform duties under direction of a physician.
• Handle clerical tasks and basic patient communications.

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Assistant responsible for performing duties under the direction of a physician to assist in the examination and treatment of patients.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or its equivalent

• Good telephone communication skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology

• Knowledge of medical procedures

• Knowledge of clerical functions

• Current CPR card (if applicable)

• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray (if applicable)

• Current Health Certificate (if applicable)

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification preferred

• Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred.

• Relevant certification/ license if applicable.

• Must be at least 18 years of age
