MCH in Houston is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical care activities and escort patients for examinations. The role includes obtaining measurements and health history, scheduling tests, and assisting physicians during visits.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, completion of an approved medical assisting program, and 2+ years of experience. Certification and BLS are preferred, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and teamwork.
A Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for supporting clinical care activities. As well, A Medical Assistant escorts patients for examination and the initial interview, obtains physical measurements and historical health information, and schedules appointments and/or tests. Lastly, a Medical Assistant obtains specimens, gives select medications, provides patients with information about their appointments and/or treatments, and assists other employees and physicians, as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:

3. Interacts with patients in a caring, sensitive manner.
4. Demonstrates courtesy and respect.
5. Adheres to the Clinic policies and standard operating procedures.
6. Documents information and measurements promptly and accurately.
7. Communicates promptly to physician or supervisor at all times.
8. Communicates identified areas for quality improvement, as needed.
9. Ensures environment is stocked, sanitized, and organized.
10. Maintains confidentiality of patient medical and financial information in all methods of communication in accordance with the Clinic policy and with all applicable laws.
11. Helps to create and maintain an atmosphere of professionalism, privacy, and confidentiality.
