The Medical Assistant (MA) III will work within the credentialed scope of practice to prepare patients and equipment for exams and procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining exam rooms and the clinical area, returning phone messages, collecting and preparing lab specimens, scheduling and obtaining authorizations for referrals and procedures, and maintaining patient confidentiality. The role supports the care team with various office and clinical duties to ensure efficient healthcare delivery. Tasks include patient intake, exceptional patient care, documentation, vaccine and medication administration, clerical, environmental, and organizational duties. Additionally, the MA provides front office support such as greeting patients, delivering excellent customer service, collecting co-payments, scheduling appointments, updating patient demographics, obtaining referrals and pre-certifications, among other clerical tasks.
BLS certification is required. The candidate must have and maintain current credentialing with one of the following organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA-CMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT-RMA), National Center for Competency Training (NCCT-NCMA), National Healthcareer Association (NHA-CCMA), National Healthcare Workers Association (NHCWA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), or National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA). Completion of an approved Medical Group competency assessment is required within 8 weeks of hire.
