Job summary

Pratt Medical Group in Virginia is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a patient-focused team. This full-time daytime role involves preparing patients, taking histories and vital signs, and supporting physicians during examinations and procedures.

You will handle room preparation, injections, phlebotomy, and lab support, while answering calls and coordinating referrals. Certification is required; on-the-job training and benefits accompany a strong team culture.

Qualifications

• One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
• Certification required: RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA or ABR-OE credentials.
• Recent graduates must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 60 days of employment.
• Candidates with one year of MA experience but without certification must obtain certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and maintain supplies and equipment, including sterilization.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Answer telephone calls and screen for referrals.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Full time (Monday - Friday, days), no nights, no on call, no weekends, no holidays

Seeking a Medical Assistant for our practice who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

What you will do in this role:

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: 3 ways to qualify

Medical Assistant Certification is required. Acceptable certifications are RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA certification, or ABR-OE credentials is acceptable OR

Medical Assistants who recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from a Medical Assisting training program must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 60 days of employment.

Candidates/incumbents with one year of Medical Assistant work experience who do not possess Medical Assistant Certification must obtain Medical Assistant Certification within one year of hire date.
