Job summary

Quadrant, Inc. in Frederick, MD seeks an experienced Medical Assistant for outpatient duties including patient preparation, rooming, vitals, and assisting with in-office procedures.

The candidate must be CMA certified or have a Medical Assistant Diploma, CPR/AHA, and EMR experience (Medconnect/IDX preferred), with orthopedic or pain management background to support patient flow and care transitions in a busy clinic. Strong communication and teamwork during daily huddles are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of outpatient Medical Assistant experience.
• Must be Certified/Registered or have a Medical Assistant Diploma.
• CPR certification through AHA.
• Experience in Orthopedic or Pain Management settings.
• Proficient rooming patients and taking vitals.
• EMR experience with MedConnect/IDX preferred.
• Assists with in-office procedures and patient flow.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with patient prep for exams and procedures.
• Maintain optimal patient flow and manage variable patient volume.
• Provide clerical support and back up for Patient Services Coordinator.
• Participate in daily team huddles to review visits.
• Document and communicate referrals and testing needs.

Medical Assistant

Pay From: $20 per hour

MUST:

• Experienced Medical Assistant with at least 2 years of outpatient experience


• MUST be Certified or Registered or have Medical Assistant Diploma


• CPR through AHA


• Must have Orthopedic or Pain Management experience


• Rooming patients


• Checking Vitals


• Must have EMR experience - Medconnect/IDX strongly preferred


• Assisting with in office procedures


• Assisting with patient volume and flow

DUTIES:

• Assists provider with patient preparation for examination, minor office procedures and with the examination and education of patients.


• Supports other members of the clinical team, assuring optimal patient flow; manages variable and unpredictable patient volume throughout the work day.


• Provides clerical support and serves as backup for the Patient Services Coordinator or other team members as needed.


• Participates in daily team huddles to review and prepare for scheduled patient visits.


• Semens all riatients, ragardloso of visit type, for preventative care needs, ongoing support, barriers to care, safety concerns, and potential fall risk. Conducts surveillance for transitions of care, emergent care, or follow up tasks such as retrieval of documents associated with referrals/testing


• Conducts motivational interviews that include screening and/or coaching on disease management ability, motivation to change, learning care needs, community outreach needs.


• Identifies potential behavioral health needs of patients using appropriate screening tools and notifies provider of findings.
