Job summary

AllerVie Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our allergy and immunology clinic teams in Lady Lake and Wildwood, FL. You will support clinical care by gathering patient histories, reconciling medications, and updating EMR, while assisting with allergy testing and immunotherapy.

This role thrives in a collaborative setting and emphasizes safe, high-quality patient care daily. Ideal candidates have MA training and experience in fast-paced medical environments, with strong communication

Qualifications

• Experience working with patients in a medical setting.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program and Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Understanding of basic medical terminology
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced or stressful environment
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of EMR system
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs (BP, HR, RR, temp, O2 sat) with proper technique
• Conduct spirometry and Niox testing with coaching
• Understand allergy practice processes for testing, diagnosis, treatment, and immunotherapy
• Keep exam rooms stocked and clean
• Communicate with Department Lead and management for clinical, supply, HR, facilities or billing matters
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient interactions and triage flow guidance
• Document activities accurately in the EMR
• Perform other duties as assigned
• May travel to other clinics for staffing needs

Job Summary:

AllerVie is currently seeking a Medical Assistant to join its dynamic allergy and immunology clinic team. In this essential role, the Medical Assistant supports clinical care teams by gathering detailed patient medical histories, reconciling medications, and accurately updating electronic medical records. This position requires familiarity with general allergy and immunology practices, procedures, and medications. The Medical Assistant will assist with allergy testing, support in diagnostic and treatment procedures, and play a key role in administering immunotherapy. Location:

Split between our Lady Lake, FL and Wildwood, FL locations

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates appropriate technique for obtaining vital signs to include Ht/Wt. BP, Pulse, RR, Temp, and O2 saturation
• Obtain spirometry and Niox testing on patients demonstrating appropriate technique and patient coaching
• Competency and knowledge of general allergy practice, procedures, and medications. Understand the process of testing, diagnosis, treatment, and immunotherapy
• Keep exam rooms well stocked and clean
• Communicate in an effective and timely manner with the Department Lead and/or the appropriate members of the management team as needed for clinical, supply, HR, facilities, or billing matters
• Display a high level of professionalism in patient/parent interactions, adhering to HIPAA. Provide anticipatory guidance as to visit flow for patients upon triage
• Ability to appropriately document activities in EMR
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
• This position may be required to travel to other clinics for staffing needs

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods and communicate effectively, including speaking and hearing
• Regular use of hands and arms to write, type, and operate office equipment
• Occasional physical movement, including reaching, bending, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and sensing odors
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and occasional overhead reaching
• Ability to lift and carry moderate weights (up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly) while maintaining visual focus and awareness
