EMMITSBURG OSTEOPATHIC PRIMARY CARE CENTER is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. This role goes beyond rooming patients, handling vital signs, and data entry in the EMR to actively support patient flow and quality care in a busy primary care setting.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency, with a focus on patient experience and teamwork.

Qualifications

• BLS certification or CMA preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, histories, and medication information.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, injections, immunizations, EKGs, and other tests.
• Document patient information accurately within the EMR.
• Prepare patient charts, identify missing information, and support preventive care and quality initiatives.
• Reconcile clinical data, lab results, reports, medications, and other patient information for accurate records.
• Communicate test results, follow-up instructions, and care coordination needs with patients.
• Maintain exam room readiness, clinical supplies, and infection control standards.
• Support efficient patient flow and contribute to a positive, team‑oriented work environment.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. This position is much more than rooming patients and obtaining vital signs. Our Medical Assistants are a critical part of the daily operation and patient experience. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

We are looking for someone who understands that patient flow, provider efficiency, and quality care depend on each team member completing their responsibilities thoroughly and on time. The ability to stay focused, think ahead, and work independently without constant supervision is essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, histories, and medication information.
• Perform venipuncture (blood draws), specimen collection, injections, immunizations, EKGs, and other primary care office testing.
• Document patient information accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Prepare patient charts, identify missing information, and support preventive care and quality initiatives.
• Reconcile clinical data, laboratory results, specialist reports, medications, and other patient information to ensure accurate records.
• Communicate with patients regarding test results, follow-up instructions, and care coordination needs.
