Job summary

Centennial Heart is hiring for a Medical Assistant to join a day-shift, Monday–Friday schedule with no nights, no weekends, and no holidays. The role involves preparing patients, rooms, and supplies for examinations, administering injections, and assisting with minor surgeries under physician supervision.

Requirements include at least one year of medical assisting or direct clinical experience, and a Medical Assistant certification or active progress toward certification within specified

Qualifications

• One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Medical Assistant Certification-required. Acceptable certifications are RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA certification, or ABR-OE credentials is acceptable OR
• Medical Assistants who recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from a Medical Assisting training program must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 60 days of employment.
• Candidates/incumbents with one year of Medical Assistant work experience who do not possess Medical Assistant Certification must obtain Medical Assistant Certification within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and maintain supplies and equipment including sterilization.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
