Job summary

Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Cincinnati is hiring a Medical Assistant to support physicians and staff, handling patient flow, room prep, minor procedures, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced orthopedic clinic.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and CMA/RMA certification (or equivalent), 2–3 years of clinical experience (orthopedics a plus), and EMR proficiency. Bilingual skills are a plus; compensation ranges from $18–$28 per hour.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certified Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
2–3 years of experience in a clinical setting; orthopedic or surgical experience is a plus.
Proficiency in EMR systems and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient examinations and minor procedures.
Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints accurately in the EMR.
Apply and remove orthopedic devices such as splints, braces, and casts under provider supervision.
Provide patient education on preoperative and post-operative care, and medication instructions.
Assist with in-office imaging coordination (e.g., X-rays, MRIs) and ensure timely follow-up.
Maintain clean and well-stocked exam rooms and clinical areas.
Perform administrative duties including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient records.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
Support surgical scheduling and pre-operative preparation as needed.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with orthopedic-specific EMR systems (e.g., Athenahealth, NextGen, Epic).
Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and durable medical equipment (DME).
Bilingual (Spanish, Mandarin, etc.) is a plus.
