Job summary

Alivio Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient exams under provider supervision. You will collect vitals, prepare exam rooms, perform basic phlebotomy, and assist with procedures, injections, and lab tests as part of a busy outpatient team.

The role requires a Medical Assistant certificate or equivalent experience, BLS certification, and bilingual English/Spanish or English/Chinese capabilities. On-site work in Chicago, IL with comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant training certificate or 5+ years MA experience with CMA/RMA certification.
• BLS certification required.
• Six months of experience as a medical assistant in an outpatient setting preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English or Chinese/English with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and record vital signs.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.***---**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information in patients’ chart* Prepares exam rooms for examination of patients* Performs basic phlebotomy tasks for exams and consults* Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed* Cleans and sterilizes instruments* Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials* Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test* Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine CLIA waived laboratory tests* Performs assigned daily and monthly duties* Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records* Retrieves Lab data from hospital and other organizations* Communicates effectively with patients via phone or other electronic means.
