Job summary

Talentify is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both clinical and non-clinical functions in our healthcare service area in Chesapeake, VA. The role operates under the supervision of a licensed provider and reports to department leadership.

The ideal candidate has completed an accredited Medical Assistant program or certification, with 1–2 years in a healthcare setting preferred, and is able to maintain sterile environments, manage supplies, and assist with visit coordination and clerical

GENERAL SUMMARY

• The Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled individual that works in a healthcare setting to support the non-clinical and clinical functions of the service area. Functions within the Medical Assistant scope of practice and under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed healthcare provider (MD, NP, RN, LPN) during performance of uncomplicated clinical services and tasks. Reports to department leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides safe and effective delivery of uncomplicated clinical services and tasks within the Medical Assistant scope of practice only and under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed health care provider.


• Provides appropriate clinical and non-clinical information to facilitate visit process.


• Maintains sterility and cleanliness of the environment.


• Maintains supplies, equipment and instruments.


• Supports and performs clerical functions as needed.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • CPR training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
