AMERICAN URGENT CARE CENTER INC seeks a Medical Assistant to join our team. You will prepare for patient visits, assist with routine medical tasks, and help manage tests and lab reporting to keep patients informed of their care.

You will also help manage medical supplies, set up machines, clean instruments, and handle front/back office duties to ensure smooth patient flow. Prior office experience and strong customer service are valued.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team! As a Medical Assistant, you will be preparing for each patient visit by providing routine support alongside nurses and medical staff, and assisting with keeping track of tests and lab reporting to ensure everything arrives on time and the patient is kept informed on their condition and care. You will also be helping manage the inventory of medical supplies, setting up machines and testing equipment, and cleaning instruments and rooms as needed. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, an interest in learning more about a working medical environment, and has previous office experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for the patient visit
• Ability to obtain vital signs , skillfully administer injections to patients such as vaccines, flue shots and TB
• Ability to skillfully perform blood drawing
• Ability to assist in minor surgeries and procedures
• Skills to perform EKG
• Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner and answering phone calls and greeting patients
• Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff
• Communicate with insurance companies insurance verification
• Escort patients to exam rooms
• Ability to be flexible in working both back and front office to facilitate smooth work and patient flow
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records
• Clean instruments and equipment after use
• Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs
• Assist nurses and doctors with basic medical care and procedures
• Track lab results and handle basic medical office duties
