Overview

The Community Health Center of Buffalo is seeking Medical Assistants to join our team. The Medical Assistant performs clerical and clinical functions that assist in the provision of care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician.

Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, HHA, PCA or CNA preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

General

• Adheres to agency policies and procedures regarding confidentiality
• Participates in quality improvement activities
• Communicates effectively with patients and staff
• Maintains a professional manner in interacting with patients and staff
• Adheres to infection control principles
• Participates in and contributes to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities and functions as needed.

• Prepares rooms for examinations and procedures

• Maintains documentation in logs as appropriate

• Recognizes emergency situations and notifies appropriate personnel
• Regular attendance is required

• Performs other relevant duties as assigned or requested

Physical Demands

Requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Evening work may be required.

Minimum Qualifications
