Job summary

Commonwealth Pain & Spine is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant in Bowling Green, KY to support both patients and healthcare providers with compassionate, efficient care. You will collect medical histories, maintain confidential records, assist in pain management procedures, and coordinate with physicians and other staff to ensure coordinated patient care.

The ideal candidate has HS Diploma or equivalent and strong EMR, HIPAA, and multitasking skills.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Strong computer and phone skills; able to multitask effectively.
• Familiarity with EMR and regulatory policies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collect & update patient medical history
• Maintain accurate & confidential patient records
• Assist in assessing patients’ pain levels & documenting information
• Triage at each visit (Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Temperature, Weight, Height)
• Instruct patients on post-procedure care and follow-up appointments
• Work closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to ensure coordinated care
• Communicate effectively within the healthcare team
• Coordinate blood thinner medicines for procedures with cardiologist
• Coordinate post-op pain medicines with patient’s surgeon
• Enter & scan all pertinent patient information in EMR
• Prepare Eval Rooms and Procedure Rooms for patient encounters
• Clean rooms post-encounter
• Perform patient drug screening
• Prepare patients for pain procedures
• Assist provider with pain procedures
• All other duties for affiliates/leased/contractors

Job Summary:

We are looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our growing team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting both patients and healthcare providers in delivering compassionate and effective care.

Responsibilities:

• Collect & update patient medical history

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Quickly and accurately type notes into EMR as provider dictates
• Strong computer and phone skills
• Navigates multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner
• Advanced knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance policies (e.g.; HIPAA)
• Ability to help lift patients from procedure table to wheelchair and from wheelchair to car
• Regular and reliable attendance, required
• EMR, KASPER, INSPECT knowledge and experience, preferred

Education:

HS Diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position will include sitting and standing with occasional light to medium lifting. Ability to help lift patients and transport in wheelchair from clinic to parking lot.
