Previous experience in PM&R, interventional pain management, orthopedics, or another specialty care setting is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Support
  • Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, review medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations.
  • Assist physicians, physician assistants, and other clinical providers during patient visits and procedures.
  • Prepare examination rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies before patient appointments.
  • Assist with in-office procedures, injections, and other clinical treatments within the Medical Assistant's authorized scope of practice.
  • Provide patients with clear instructions regarding appointments, procedures, follow-up care, and provider recommendations.
  • Maintain a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach throughout every interaction.
Chart Preparation & Clinical Documentation
  • Proactively review and prepare patient charts before scheduled appointments to ensure providers have the information necessary for efficient and effective visits.
  • Verify relevant medical histories, medication lists, allergies, prior treatment records, imaging reports, and specialist documentation.
  • Identify missing documentation, referrals, authorizations, imaging, or outside medical records and coordinate their retrieval before appointments.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and clinical information are available for new patient evaluations, follow-up appointments, and procedures.
  • Accurately document patient information, clinical activities, and provider-directed updates within the electronic medical record.
  • Assist providers with documentation workflows and ensure charts are completed and routed appropriately.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records while protecting patient confidentiality.
Provider & Procedure Support
  • Anticipate provider needs and ensure examination rooms and clinical materials are ready for each scheduled patient.
  • Prepare patients and treatment areas for office-based procedures, including injections and other specialty services.
  • Assist providers with obtaining and organizing imaging, diagnostic results, and relevant medical documentation.

  • Assist with prescription refill requests and prior authorizations as directed by licensed clinical staff.
  • Communicate with pharmacies, imaging facilities, referring providers, and other healthcare organizations as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate clinical inventory and notify leadership of supply or equipment needs.
  • Follow infection prevention, sterilization, and workplace safety protocols.
  • Assist with maintaining clean, stocked, organized, and patient-ready clinical areas.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve patient experiences, clinical efficiency, and operational workflows.
  • Support clinical operations across locations as needed.
Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent relevant clinical experience.
  • Previous experience working in a medical office or outpatient clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical workflows, and electronic medical records.
  • Experience obtaining vital signs, rooming patients, preparing charts, and assisting providers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy clinical setting.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, patient-focused demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and follow through on assigned responsibilities.

  • Familiarity with workers' compensation and personal injury patient populations.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or similar electronic medical record systems.

  • Be detail-oriented: Ensure charts, records, clinical orders, and patient information are accurate and complete.
  • Be dependable: Follow through on responsibilities and communicate proactively.
  • Prioritize patients: Deliver compassionate, professional care and help patients feel comfortable and informed.
  • Work collaboratively: Support providers, colleagues, and leadership in maintaining a high-performing clinic.
Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
  • Supportive, collaborative team environment.
  • Additional benefits based on eligibility.
