Mission Ortho Trauma Services, part of HCA Healthcare, is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a busy practice. You will prepare patients for exams, take histories and vital signs, assist with injections, and help with phlebotomy and minor procedures.

This full-time, daytime role emphasizes teamwork, quality patient care, and efficient clinic operations. One year of medical assisting or direct patient care is preferred; certification through MA programs is required or must be

• One year of Medical Assisting or direct clinical patient care experience.
• Medical Assistant Certification required or must be obtained within specific timelines.
• Ability to prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment and assist with minor procedures.

Responsibilities

• You will prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
• You will prepare exam and treatment rooms with the necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• You will give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
• You will assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals
• You will answer telephone calls to the practice and screens for referral

What Qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE:

One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:3 ways to qualify:

Medical AssistantCertification-required. Acceptable certifications are RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA certification, or ABR-OE credentials is acceptableOR

Medical Assistants who recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from a Medical Assistingtraining program must obtain Medical Assistantcertification within60 daysof employment.OR

Candidates/incumbents with one year of Medical Assistant work experience who donotpossessMedical Assistant Certification must obtain Medical Assistant Certification withinoneyear of hire date.
