Pediatric Associates is seeking a Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist to join our team in a pediatric setting. You will provide clinical support, take patient histories, vital signs, injections, and basic procedures while also handling routine front-desk tasks.

A $1000 sign-on bonus is offered for external hires. The role requires clinical and administrative duties, familiarity with EMR systems, and a patient-centered approach.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• MA Diploma/Certification or 3 years MA experience will commensurate Diploma/Certification.

Responsabilidades

• Welcomes and rooms patients; prepares exam rooms ensuring cleanliness and supplies.
• Obtains and documents vital signs: height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration, BP, SpO2.
• Collects and documents patient history in the EMR; notes allergies and chief complaint.
• Prepares patients for examinations and assists clinicians during routine procedures.
• Performs basic screenings and immunizations per protocol.
• Collects routine lab specimens and processes them correctly.
• Performs point-of-care testing and operates equipment (EKG, spirometry).
• Maintains accurate patient records and manages documentation.
• Provides patient education using approved materials.
• Assists with scheduling, referrals, and completion of routine forms.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. Supports clinician and care management teams in the maintenance of chronic disease management, examination, and treatment of pediatric patient population.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcome and room patients; prepare exam rooms ensuring cleanliness, infection control, and appropriate supplies.
• Obtain and document vital signs (height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, pulse oximetry).
• Collect and document patient history, medications, allergies, and chief complaint in the EMR.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist clinicians during routine procedures.
• Perform basic screenings (vision, hearing, developmental).
• Administer vaccines and medications using established protocols and buddy-check processes.
• Collect routine lab specimens (capillary blood, urine, throat and nasal swabs) and process appropriately.
• Perform point-of-care testing and operate equipment (e.g., EKG, spirometry)
• Provide basic first aid and wound care as directed.
• Reconcile medications and vaccines in EMR and state registry.
• Maintain accurate patient records and organize/scanning documentation.
• Provide patient education using approved materials.
• Ensure proper vaccine handling and storage compliance.
• Assist with scheduling, referrals, and completion of routine forms.
• Respond to patient messages and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to clinician.
• Maintain a safe, clean clinical environment.
• Follow HIPAA, safety, and infection control policies.
• Support team workflow and assist colleagues as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical foreign doctors must have a Bachelor of Science degree in General Medicine from a regionally accredited university or equivalent.
• Experience may be commensurate with education.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience with MA Diploma/Certification in healthcare setting preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

• MA Diploma/Certification required OR a minimum of 3 years MA experience will commensurate Diploma/Certification requirement.
• Active BLS certification required.
• Upon hire, and for the duration of the employment period driver’s license.
