Job summary

Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and front office operations in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will assist providers, manage patient flow, and help ensure a welcoming patient experience.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of MA experience, BLS certification, and strong communication skills. The role involves room preparation, vital signs, phlebotomy, and EMR documentation, with flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• Certification options accepted include CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA.
• Alternative qualifications consider 3+ years MA experience with urgent care/hospital exposure.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic, insurance, and eligibility information.
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling.
• Prepare patients for examination and document medical history.
• Record vital signs and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for labs.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies.
• Support front desk duties including phone management and patient communication.
• Conduct follow-up calls and assist with opening/closing duties.
