Location: Ave Suite , Annapolis, MD 21401

Job Type: Contract (W2)

Shift Timing: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, Monday to Friday

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Junior Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in drawing blood (phlebotomy) and will support clinical staff by assisting in patient care, collecting specimens, maintaining medical records, and performing routine administrative and clinical tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for laboratory testing.
  • Prepare and label blood specimens for processing.
  • Assist physicians and nurses during patient examinations.
  • Measure and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, etc.).
  • Update and maintain patient medical records and charts accurately.
  • Ensure all phlebotomy equipment and exam rooms are sanitized and stocked.
  • Provide pre- and post-blood draw care instructions to patients.
  • Schedule appointments and assist with front desk duties as needed.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA and infection control protocols.
  • Support other medical staff with additional tasks as directed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant training program is preferred.
  • Certification in Phlebotomy or documented training and experience in blood collection (mandatory).
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
