Job summary

AdventHealth in Kissimmee, FL seeks a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to cover two ED locations. You will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, ensure image quality, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across departments, including OB/GYN and vascular work.

A strong focus on patient safety, protocol adherence, and continuous improvement is expected. The role requires RDMS with AB credentials, BLS, and 2+ years vascular sonography experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in vascular sonography (preferred).
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) required (AB).
• RDMS-OBGYN or RVT or RT(VS) or RVS required (per listed certifications).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Attends department meetings and engages in positive dialogue to support department objectives.
• Obtains high-quality scans by following proper exam protocols and adapting procedures to patient medical situations.
• Communicates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, notifying physicians of abnormal findings.
• Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment safely and in accordance with infection control standards.
• Performs a full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and rotates between departments as needed.

Job Description: Shift: PRN to cover open shifts (days/nights/weekends) Location: to cover two EDs- Poinciana ED (4281 Pleasant Hill Rd) and Partin Settlement ED at 2500 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee) Attends department meetings and engages in positive dialogue to support department objectives. Obtains high‑quality scans by following proper exam protocols and adapting procedures to each patient's medical situation. Confirms patient and exam accuracy using two patient identifiers before administering exams. Performs, documents, and reports all procedures in accordance with departmental policy. Reviews images and completes ultrasound worksheets and/or reports promptly if applicable, re‑scanning patients as requested. Communicates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, including notifying physicians of abnormal findings. Utilizes computer systems to update exam status, manage orders, and ensure accurate charges. Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment safely, adhering to infection control standards. Performs a full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and rotates between multiple departments as needed. Assists with clinical instructions and serves as a resource to less experienced employees. Participates in performance improvement activities and contributes to process improvement initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Associate [Preferred] Bachelor's [Preferred]

Work Experience: 2+ years experience in vascular sonography [Preferred]
