Job summary

The Rural Metro Fire Department is seeking a Helicopter Pilot in Redding, California to provide medical air transportation services. This position requires safe transport of customers and ensuring aircraft readiness for flight dispatches. A competitive starting salary between $106,511-$117,162 is offered, along with a sign-on bonus and retention bonuses after 42 months.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate.
• Helicopter instrument rating is required.
• Possess a current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
• 2,000 total flight hours including helicopter hours.
• 1,000 helicopter PIC hours and 1,000 turbine hours are mandatory.
• Must meet the weight limit of 230 pounds with flight gear.

Responsibilities

• Transport customers safely with a medical team.
• Ensure aircraft readiness for flights and maintain cleanliness.
• Document and maintain regulatory paperwork.
• Communicate with dispatch, flight crews, and partners.
• Provide shift change information as per protocols.
• Maintain certifications and ongoing training.
