Job summary

MissionHires is seeking clinicians to design realistic clinical tasks for AI evaluation. You will create prompts for SOAP notes, assessments, medication reconciliations, and triage decisions, and run tasks through frontier AI models to gauge performance against professional standards.

You will compare outputs, document strengths and weaknesses, and help refine tasks based on reviewer feedback. This is a fully remote contract with flexible scheduling and a minimum 10 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Active or recent clinical license as RN, NP, PA, MD, DO, PharmD, or allied health professional.
• At least 2 years of hands-on clinical experience preferred; exceptions for substantial practical experience.

Job description

When AI gets the details wrong in your field, real people pay for it. The people who know the work best have to be the ones training these models. You’re not being replaced by AI. You’re making sure it’s used accurately and safely.

Responsibilities:

• Design challenging, realistic clinical tasks based on day-to-day practice, including constructed or de-identified histories, exam findings, laboratory results, imaging reports, medication lists, prior notes, and other supporting files.
• Create prompts and scenarios for clinical deliverables such as SOAP notes, assessment and plans, medication reconciliations, interaction reviews, triage decisions, discharge summaries, patient education materials, clinical protocols, and standing order sets.
• Run tasks through frontier AI models and evaluate the resulting clinical work against professional standards.
• Compare multiple AI outputs on identical prompts and supporting files, determine which performs better, and document strengths and shortcomings.
• Develop detailed grading rubrics defining the required clinical reasoning, differential diagnoses, red-flag assessment, medication decisions, patient-context considerations, and appropriate communication.
• Identify and document concrete model failures, including unsupported assessments, missed contraindications or interactions, diagnostic anchoring, fabricated or ignored information, unsafe communication, and failure to follow the task brief.
• Contribute expertise across your clinical setting and adjacent settings, and review or refine tasks developed by other clinicians.
• Propose, build, and iterate on clinical evaluation tasks using reviewer feedback.

Requirements:

• Active or recent clinical license as an RN, NP, PA, MD, DO, PharmD, or allied health professional with independent clinical judgment, such as respiratory therapy, physical therapy, or midwifery.
• At least 2 years of current or recent hands-on clinical experience preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered when they have substantial practical experience.
• Currently practicing, or recently practiced, as an individual contributor rather than solely in a management role.
• Depth of experience in at least one clinical setting or specialty, such as acute care and medical-surgical, emergency, critical care, primary care/family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, behavioral health, geriatrics/long-term care, perioperative care, oncology, or pharmacy.
• Working understanding of adjacent clinical settings and workflows.
• Practitioner-level ability to read and write clinical documentation and make decisions based on current guidelines and patient context.
• Ability to use real-world clinical workflows and experience to create scenarios that test whether AI can perform meaningful clinical work.
• Full professional or native-level written and spoken English, with the ability to explain complex clinical reasoning clearly and concisely.
• Strong attention to detail, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to verify claims against underlying data, sources, and facts.
• Ability to interpret feedback independently, determine what is correct, and apply it without extensive direction.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar work from written instructions, including incomplete materials.
• General familiarity with AI and LLM tools, such as Claude or ChatGPT, and the judgment to distinguish well-reasoned responses from plausible but incorrect ones.
• Comfort using cloud file tools, browser profiles, desktop applications, and everyday file-management tasks such as converting spreadsheets and creating ZIP files.
• Availability of at least 10 hours per week; consistent availability is valued, and full-time hours may be available.
• Must be based in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom.
• May be asked to verify clinical licensure during the assessment process.
