The position is responsible for delivering medical insight, strategic guidance, and scientific leadership that enable safe, effective, and innovative product solutions, robust clinical and real-world evidence generation, and meaningful knowledge translation to healthcare providers and customers worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Provide strong medical leadership within assigned project teams and help guide strategic and operational decisions that influence global program direction.
- Serve as the medical subject matter expert, leveraging deep knowledge of diabetes management, standards of care, scientific literature, and insights from key opinion leaders.
- Contribute to the development of medically sound product design requirements, assess system and user-related risks, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Partner closely with Clinical Affairs, Human Factors, and User Experience teams to define validation needs, interpret study outcomes, and confirm effectiveness of risk controls.
- Shape evidence-generation plans aligned with program goals, supporting regulatory submissions and competitive product claims.
- Translate clinical and scientific data into clear insights that underpin regulatory documentation, commercial messaging, and product value statements.
- Collaborate with Medical Science Liaisons, investigators, and advisory boards to gather and synthesize medical intelligence from the field.
- Support medical components of go-to-market plans, including content for professional education, conferences, and customer engagements.
Required Background
- Minimum 8 years of clinical, industry, or research experience directly related to diabetes and diabetes-related devices (e.g., insulin pumps, CGMs).
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline with 5+ years of medical affairs or medical strategy experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or related fields.
Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing medical affairs strategy.
- Strong knowledge of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, disease mechanisms, treatment pathways, and outcomes.
- Advanced understanding of diabetes technologies, including automated insulin delivery systems.
- Experience designing clinical studies and interpreting scientific data.
