Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead Consultant - Medicaid to guide advisory engagements with state and local Medicaid agencies. You will serve as a trusted advisor, shape client strategy, and lead consultative discussions that translate into successful engagements.

The role requires current Medicaid consulting experience as a project leader, including policy analysis, program design, financial reviews, and operations improvement.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in state Medicaid programs or Medicaid consulting.
• Experience leading or advising Medicaid consulting engagements.
• Proven ability to engage credibly with senior Medicaid executives and agency leadership.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state Medicaid law and financing.
• Experience supporting responses to Medicaid procurements.
• Excellent executive communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead advisory engagements from initial discussions through scoping, execution, and delivery.
• Develop workplans, governance, and objective deliverables aligned to client needs.
• Provide senior oversight to ensure delivery quality and client satisfaction.
• Recruit and oversee consulting team members to support engagements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to strengthen go-to-market strategies.
• Support business development, including proposal development and executive presentations.
• Collaborate with delivery, BD, capture, and leadership to present integrated Medicaid advisory.
