Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Medicaid Eligibility Advocate to conduct screenings, assess patient financial needs, and counsel on insurance benefits. The role acts as a liaison among patients, the hospital, and government agencies and supports case management across activities.

In this position you will evaluate coverage, verify benefits, obtain required documentation, and file applications while maintaining accurate records and following relevant policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred
• Minimum of one-year related experience preferred, preferably in healthcare.
• Relevant education may substitute experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients for existing insurance coverage or government assistance programs.
• Re-verifies benefits and obtains authorization and/or referral after treatment plan discussed.
• Obtain medical evidence and documentation required for eligibility determination.
• Complete and file applications and follow up with patient and government agencies to ensure timely processing.
• Enter insurance, demographic and eligibility information into the system and document progress notes.
• Participate in ongoing training programs.
• Follow policies to contribute to office efficiency and cover other functions as needed.
• Make field visits as necessary with reliable transportation.
