About the Role:

The Medicaid Eligibility Representative helps uninsured patients explore potential Medicaid coverage by guiding them through the application process. This includes speaking with patients, gathering required information and documentation, submitting applications, and following up with state or county agencies.

This is a fast-paced, customer-facing position for someone who communicates clearly, stays organized, learns new systems quickly, and is comfortable assisting patients who may be navigating a difficult or unfamiliar situation. Previous Medicaid experience is helpful but not required. Comprehensive training will be provided.

Title: Medicaid Eligibility Representative

Location: Onsite – 3188 Bellevue Ave Cincinnati, OH 45219, USA

Schedule: Monday – Friday, First Shift Hours

Reports To: Medicaid Eligibility Supervisor

Compensation: $19.00–$21.00 per hour, plus the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet with patients in healthcare facilities or by phone to assess potential Medicaid eligibility and explain available assistance programs.
• Collect, review, and verify information and documentation needed to complete Medicaid applications.
• Submit applications and work with patients, hospital staff, and government agencies to support timely eligibility determinations.
• Monitor cases, follow up on outstanding items, and help resolve issues that may impact application approval.
• Accurately document patient interactions, case activity, and updates in company and client systems.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicaid guidelines, facility requirements, and company policies.
• Work toward established quality, productivity, and performance goals while providing a positive patient experience.

Required Qualifications:

• Bilingual in Spanish with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand spoken Spanish proficiently
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of customer-facing experience in retail, hospitality, healthcare, banking, call center, or a similar service-oriented environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport and explain information clearly.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document information.
• Comfortable using computers and learning new software applications and systems.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or higher
• Experience working in a performance-driven environment with established goals, productivity metrics, quality standards, or quotas.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word) or similar business software, with the ability to quickly learn new technology platforms and systems.
• Experience working in a hospital, physician practice, healthcare facility, or healthcare customer service environment.
• Experience with Medicaid eligibility, public assistance programs, healthcare enrollment, patient access, or financial counseling.
• Experience using EMR/EHR, case management, eligibility, claims management, or similar healthcare technology platforms such as Epic, Artiva, or related systems.
