Role: Medicaid Specialist/Eligibility Planner

Fully remote position with a U.S. based company.
Providing clients with customized application support for Medicaid Long Term Care (LTC) benefits.
The Medicaid Specialist will work closely with the loved one of an applicant over the age of 65, or those who are permanently disabled.
An ideal candidate will have excellent communication, case management and customer service skills. Knowledge of Medicaid long term care guidelines and/or experience in financial planning and case management is a plus. A high comfort level with basic math, analyzing financial calculations and ability to handle sensitive client communication are necessary skills for this position.
What You Will Do:
- Manage a caseload of up to 40 clients, with general supervision
- Onboard new clients with an intake questionnaire
- Analyze the Applicant's financial data, and input calculations using spreadsheets
- Work closely, via phone and email, with the client to securely collect application documents via digital files (pdf, jpg, etc.)
- Strategize a customized plan for each client, to ensure eligibility for benefits
- Articulate complex strategy and Medicaid guidelines to clients
- Complete all Medicaid application forms and submit required documents to the appropriate agency
- Learn, understand, and research both federal and state Medicaid LTC regulations
- Comply with the Applicant's state or county eligibility guidelines
- Be a diligent advocate for the Applicant by following up with caseworkers and agencies to confirm that the application is being processed within required timelines
- Become proficient with company productivity tools to manage cases in a remote work environment (CRM database, Google Docs, Adobe PDF editor, etc)
- Track and notate all case management details using company CRM (client relation management database)
- Schedule appointments with clients and other team members
- Follow company data security policies to ensure client information is secure
- Attend weekly staff meetings to stay informed about processes and procedures
- Additional case management responsibilities as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- English fluency and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Medicaid eligibility preferred; Medicaid long-term care experience is a plus
- Demonstrated understanding of financial assets, such as bank accounts, IRA's, life insurance policies, etc.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft excel and demonstrated comfort level with math
- Ability to follow instructions and respond to direction from Team Managers
- Responsible “self-starter” who keeps commitments to deadlines
- Comfortable with a high volume of work when necessary to meet deadlines; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan
- Project management - ability to prioritize and manage your caseload and tasks effectively
