Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Medicaid Eligibility Advocate to join our team. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

You will screen patients for insurance coverage, assist with government programs, and counsel on benefits and co-pays as part of the liaison between patient, hospital, and agencies. Based in a Parallon service model, the role requires coordination, field visits when needed, and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of one-year related experience preferred, preferably in healthcare.
• Relevant education may substitute experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients for existing insurance coverage, federal and state assistance programs, or hospital charity applications.
• Re-verifies benefits and obtains authorization/referral after treatment plan is discussed.
• Obtain medical evidence and documentation required for eligibility determination.
• Complete and file applications and follow up with patient and government agencies for timely processing.
• Enter accurate insurance, demographic and eligibility information; document progress notes.
• Participate in ongoing training programs as required.
• Support office functions and cover other duties as needed.
• Make field visits as necessary with reliable transportation.
