HCA Florida Lake City Hospital is hiring a Medicaid Eligibility Advisor to screen and verify insurance coverage, assist with government programs, and file applications. The role requires documenting in the electronic records and following up with patients and agencies.

The position supports community health access with a hybrid work arrangement. Qualifications include an Associate degree (preferred) and at least one year of related healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred
• Minimum one-year related experience preferred, preferably in healthcare
• Relevant education may substitute experience requirement

Responsabilités

• Screen and evaluate patients for existing insurance coverage, federal and state assistance programs, or hospital charity applications
• Re-verifies benefits and obtains authorization and/or referral after treatment plan has been discussed, prior to initiation of treatment
• Obtain legally relevant medical evidence, physician statements and all other documentation required for eligibility determination
• Complete and file applications and maintain proper follow-up with patient and government agency caseworkers
• Ensure all insurance, demographic and eligibility information is obtained and entered into the system accurately
• Document progress notes to the patient’s file and the hospital computer system
• Participate in ongoing training programs and follow office policies
• May be required to make field visits and have reliable transportation
