Job summary

The Elizabeth Layton Center in Ottawa, KS is seeking a Billing Specialist to join the Operations team. You will prepare Substance Use Disorder (SUD) claims for submission and manage 60+ days AR by reviewing and submitting corrected claims for payment.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• 1–2 years of medical billing or accounting experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to pass all required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare SUD claims for submission and manage 60+ days AR.
• Review Medicaid/KanCare claims for accuracy prior to submission.
• Work with staff to resolve problem claims.
• Provide backup for weekly claim submissions and posting payments.
• Communicate with staff and management about trends and eligibility.
• Attend trainings and meetings.
• Ensure compliance with policies.
