Major League Baseball is seeking a Counsel, Media & Distribution to lead and participate in media rights licensing and distribution transactions, advise on advertising initiatives, and provide strategic legal counsel in a dynamic media environment.

The role collaborates with MLB's legal team, clubs, networks and platforms, drafting and negotiating complex agreements and ensuring regulatory compliance while protecting intellectual property.

Qualifications

• JD and NY bar admission required.
• 5+ years as a practicing lawyer, preferably in a well-regarded law firm.
• Top-tier law firm experience strongly preferred.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex media-related agreements.
• Experience navigating regulatory frameworks and IP protection/enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Participate in or lead structure, negotiation and drafting of media rights licensing and distribution agreements with networks, platforms, distributors and partners.
• Advise on advertising, sponsorship and promotional initiatives linked to media partnerships.
• Coordinate with MLB Legal and stakeholders to align policies and practices with media distribution work.
• Draft, review and advise on compliance with media-related league rules and regulatory issues.
