Job summary

Champion Management Group, LLC is seeking a part-time Media Relations Intern for Fall in Dallas, TX. You will gain hands-on experience developing media materials, building media lists, pitching stories, and securing coverage for a diverse client portfolio while collaborating with our media relations team in a fast-paced agency.

The ideal candidate is a senior or recent graduate in marketing, communications, or journalism, with strong writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current senior working toward a degree or recent graduate in marketing, communications, journalism or related discipline.
• A team player who is comfortable working with limited supervision.
• One year of experience with proven success in securing media placements in the food/beverage or lifestyle space is a bonus.
• Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Energetic, organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Draft and edit press releases, media alerts, blogs and other PR materials using AP Style for various clients across different industries.
• Build, maintain and update media lists tailored to clients’ target markets, including local consumer, business, trade and national media outlets.
• Conduct outreach on client campaigns and distribute press releases to media contacts via email and Muck Rack, ensuring timely and effective communication.
• Pitch story ideas to journalists, build relationships with media members and secure positive media coverage for clients.
• Monitor media outlets for industry trends, client mentions and opportunities for coverage.
• Develop and pitch TV and radio segments, especially morning shows, in various markets to maximize client exposure.

Schedule

• Part-time, non-exempt hourly position
• 28 hours per week
• Hybrid role in the office Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
• Applicants must reside in the DFW area and be able to commute to our Dallas office.
