Job summary

  • Follow management’s production routing and volumes according to laboratory production schedule and expected output.
  • Assess media quality control records and release media batches for use.
  • Clean and sterilize labware used for media production.

Role Summary

As a Media Production Lab Tech , you will prepare , sterilize, and manage biological media in support of laboratory research. This role adheres to all health, safety, and environment policies, procedures and requirements for the facility and laboratory equipment. You will operate within a controlled clean room environment under standard operating procedures (SOP’s) on laboratory biosecurity, and media preparation. The technician must ensure proper documentation of Media, including labeling, verifying and discarding measures. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with the ability to prioritize , work as a team, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities, while striving for continuous improvements .

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain m edia quality by preventing exposure to undesired temperatures or contaminants ; ensure availability of in-date supplies and communicate inventory needs to management accordingly.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation; perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of m edia preparation equipment.
  • Prepare media using volumetric or gravimetric methods as instructed by laboratory .
  • Follow management’s production routing and volumes according to laboratory production schedule and expected output.
  • Assess media quality control records and release media batches for use.
  • Clean and sterilize all the labware used for media production.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills
  • 3 years’ experience in a biological lab environment preferred.
  • Basic chemistry and biology knowledge
Physical Requirements of The Role
  • Must be able to lift 45-50lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in full cleanroom attire, which may cause temperature-related discomfort.
