Job summary

The University of Iowa Distance & Online Education seeks a Media Lead to spearhead studio-based video production for online courses, training faculty, and guiding pre-production and in-studio sessions. You’ll operate cameras, lighting, and audio, then edit with Resolve, Creative Cloud, and Fusion to deliver high-quality instructional media.

Reality-depth production knowledge, strong collaboration, and the ability to manage workflows are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of expertise, experience, and education.
• Experience (1-3 years) providing media support with emphasis on media production, editing, and delivery.
• Ability to produce video content end-to-end, including camera operation, lighting, audio, editing, color correction, and delivery.
• Proficiency in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting cameras, audio systems, switching, and capture technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage files, production pipelines, and workflows while resolving technical challenges.
• Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and respectful manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead studio-based media production for online courses and instructional content.
• Provide pre-production guidance, technical setup, and faculty training for media projects.
• Operate production equipment, capture audio/video, and support in-studio recording sessions.
• Edit and finalize video content using professional tools, applying graphics and effects as needed.
• Advise faculty on best practices for studio media and assist with scripts and visuals.
• Support structured pre-production and on-camera delivery coaching for instructors.
