Job summary

Grand Rapids Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional - Media to manage the school library and textbook collections, support classroom instruction, and maintain cataloging, circulation, and inventory processes across the media center.

The selected candidate will assist scholars and staff in locating resources, operate the OverDrive eBook library, and promote library services while adhering to confidentiality and district standards.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 Credits) or an associate degree, or a passing score on an MDE approved paraprofessional assessment.
• Passing of district library assessment test.
• Preferred: experience with LibraryWorld computer automation program.

Responsibilities

• Process library books, textbooks and related materials (barcoding, shelving, reports) for scholars and staff.
• Assist teachers, scholars and administrators in identifying resource materials for classroom use.
• Assist with accessing online databases and the OverDrive eBook library.
• Perform circulation activities and generate circulation reports for accountability.
• Maintain media center organization, shelving, and inventory.
