Role Description The Medical Assistant at CenterWell Senior Primary Care in Suwanee, GA is a full-time, on-site role supporting high-quality, patient-centered care for older adults. Day-to-day responsibilities include rooming patients, recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing exam rooms, and assisting clinicians with examinations and minor procedures. The Medical Assistant helps coordinate patient flow, manages phone calls, schedules appointments, and supports documentation in electronic health records. Additional tasks include performing basic clinical tests, administering injections as permitted, reinforcing care plans and patient education, and ensuring a clean, safe environment. This role works closely with the interdisciplinary Care Team to deliver consistent, respectful, and compassionate care to senior patients.

Qualifications

  • Clinical support skills: experience taking vital signs, recording patient histories, assisting with exams and procedures, and performing basic diagnostic tests.
  • Patient care and communication skills: ability to interact respectfully with senior patients, provide clear instructions, support patient education, and demonstrate strong interpersonal communication.
  • Administrative and organizational skills: familiarity with scheduling, managing patient flow, handling phone calls, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
  • Technical proficiency: comfort working with electronic health records, basic computer applications, and office equipment commonly used in medical practices.
  • Professional qualifications: completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification or registration as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Additional beneficial experience: prior work in senior care or primary care settings, knowledge of Medicare and Medicare Advantage patient needs, and experience in team-based, holistic care environments.
