Job summary

EXL is seeking a Data Modeller to join our data team in New York. You will design and implement structured data models across the medallion architecture, with a focus on Silver and Gold layers, collaborating with engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to ensure accurate, traceable models.

Responsibilities include source-to-target mapping, data standards enforcement, and comprehensive documentation of models and rules.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Modeller or Data Architect in modern data platforms.
• Strong knowledge of medallion architecture and data lineage documentation.
• Experience with dimensional modelling, star/snowflake schemas, and normalised/denormalised design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data models for Silver and Gold layers.
• Create and manage source-to-target mapping documents and data lineage.
• Collaborate with data engineers to translate requirements into models.
• Define data standards, naming conventions, and best practices.
• Document models, transformation rules, and mapping specs for auditability.
• Review and validate transformation logic between Bronze-Silver and Silver-Gold.
