Job summary

Penn Medicine Princeton Health is currently seeking a full‑time Med Tech to work within the Blood Bank and Core Lab at our Princeton NJ hospital campus. You will join an accomplished team of Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians in a state‑of‑the‑art Clinical Laboratory.

Responsibilities include analyzing samples, performing QC, and maintaining competency while adhering to safety standards. Requires ASCP certification and a Bachelor’s in medical tech or related science.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, or laboratory science/medical technology required.
• Non-US based education/ education obtained abroad needs to be evaluated and certified as per US Standards (WES).
• Recent clinical laboratory experience is required.
• ASCP CERTIFIED.

Responsibilities

• Analyze biological samples adhering to Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures
• Perform and document quality control and maintenance functions
• Maintains ongoing competency in all areas of testing performed
• Adheres to all laboratory safety and regulatory practices
• Communicates well with Physicians and other Ancillary services

Shift Hours: Per Diem/Overnights /11pm - 7:30 am/ Every other weekend/holiday rotation - as needed (*** eligible for shift differential)

What We Require for this Role:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, or laboratory science/medical technology science required.
• Non-US based education/ Education obtained abroad needs to be evaluated and certified as per US Standards (This evaluation and recognition can be obtained via World Services Education (WES)).

Related Work Experience

• Recent experience in a CLINICAL laboratory setting (required for this position)
• ASCP CERTIFIED

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT

• Medical Technologist (ASCP or NCA), Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP), or previously qualified as Medical Technologist prior to 2/28/92 under 42CFR493.1427 (3/14/90) REQUIRED.
• If candidate does not possess ASCP certification, they must be eligible to take the exam within 6 months of hire.

Salary Range:

$29.48 - $47.01/Hourly
