Job summary

Harmony Senior Services, LLC is seeking a Med Tech to provide quality care and assistance with daily living activities. The role includes administering prescribed medications within the established scope of practice and maintaining the EMAR/MAR documentation.

The incumbent will assist residents with move-in transitions, participate in activity planning, and ensure safety during lifting and transfers. A High School diploma, Medication Aide Course, and valid CNA/Med Tech licenses are required,

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Administer prescribed medications within scope of practice.
• Maintain medication cart and complete cart audits.
• Document all medication administration in EMAR/MAR and Daily Log.
• Report incidents and changes to HCD and RN/LPN or ED as needed.
• Communicate resident needs to the HCD and family as appropriate.
• Assist in planning activity programs and accompany residents to meals and activities.
• Assist new residents with move-in transition and provide emotional support.

# Job DescriptionThe Med Tech provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents of the community as well as assists with the administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.Assists with the administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice. Must maintain a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position Assists residents with activities of daily living Reports incidents involving residents to include care concerns or issues, to appropriate individuals (ex: HCD, RN/LPN, or ED) Perform housekeeping duties, such as making resident beds, cleaning resident apartments, common areas, dining room, etc. as directed by supervisor Respond promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information Assists residents to and from the dining room, and to and from activities Checks on residents, ensures attendance at meals and activities Checks on residents who are ill and reports status or concerns to appropriate individuals Communicate verbally and in writing to report resident status, upcoming community information, resident appointments, admissions, and transfers Assists new residents with move-in transition: provide emotional support Attendance to all medication trainings scheduled Complete medication cart audits as assigned and maintain the medication cart as directed Pass all medication administration observations Communicates all medication resident needs to the HCD and documents in the Daily Log Re-orders medications, faxes to pharmacy, communicates with resident family/RP as needed with changes. Reports in Daily Log Documents all medication administration on the EMAR/MAR. Reports all exceptions to the HCD and documented on EMAR and Daily Log Other duties as assigned Requirements: Must have High School Diploma or GED Must have completed the Medication Aide Course. Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics Must be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smile Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies Pay Range: $20/hr - $23/hr
