Overview

Med Tech/CNA at The Palmettos of Parklane. The Palmettos of Parklane is looking for a Med Tech / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. The Med Tech/CNA provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comforts and assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and maintain a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of residents.
• Assist in the preparation for admission of patients.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge procedures as needed and accompany patients during these processes.
• Provide post-mortem care as required.

Qualifications

Health – Ability to meet performance requirements.

Education and Training

• Must be a certified nursing assistant or currently enrolled in a nurse aide training program.
• Attend in-service programs, as assigned, to learn procedures, develop skills and meet state requirements.

Personal Qualifications

• Sensitive to patients’ physical and psychosocial needs.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Capable of charting accurately in the Patient Care Record or other similar form.
• Pleasant and cheerful personality.
• Tactful and courteous approach with patients and visitors.

Position Highlights

• Understands and practices universal precautions with all patients.
• Performs all tasks/procedures included in the assignment or reports to the charge nurse any tasks not completed.
• Assists in the preparation for admission of patients.
• Assists in and accompanies patients in admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
