Job summary

The Oaks in Muskegon, MI, part of Trinity Health Senior Communities, is seeking a Med Tech for an evening, full-time role. You will administer medications, monitor residents, and assist with daily living activities, while maintaining safety and dignity for memory care residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Medication Aide or Med Tech credential (state-specific certification).
• 1+ year experience in assisted living, memory care, or geriatric care.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols.
• Valid CPR/BLS certification.
• Ability to lift/transfers residents safely; physical stamina for standing and walking.
• Excellent communication skills; compassionate, respectful demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Medication Management: Administer oral/topical meds following physician orders and the “Five Rights” procedure.
• Maintain, reconcile, and audit Medication Administration Records (MARs).
• Perform controlled substance counts and monitor expirations.
• Clinical Care & Monitoring: Take vital signs and conduct basic tests; provide wound care and coordinate with nursing staff.
• Daily Living Assistance: Aid with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transferring, mobility, and feeding; support hydration and meals.
• Environmental Care & Safety: Maintain tidy resident rooms and safety; perform housekeeping tasks.
• Engagement & Communication: Encourage participation in activities; document care and communicate with families.
• Compliance & Documentation: Uphold HIPAA; keep charts and logs current.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certified Medication Aide or Med Tech credential

1+ year experience in assisted living/memory care/geriatric care

Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration

Valid CPR/BLS certification

Ability to lift/transfers residents safely; physical stamina

Qualifications
