Medication Technician (Med Tech)

Work Schedule

11p-7a alternating weekends (Full Time)

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
• Provide physical and psychosocial care to all residents, promoting dignity, choice, and individuality.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of residents.
• Perform tasks and procedures on assignment or report incomplete tasks to charge nurse.
• Assist in preparedness for admission and accompany patients through admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
• Provide post‑mortem care.
• Provide morning and evening care including bed bath, oral hygiene, hair combing, skin care, changing linens, and room upkeep throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of medication technician skills competency checklist.
• Must obtain required medication technician training certificate.
• Experience working in Assisted Living preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Understand and practice universal precautions with all patients.
• Certified nursing assistant or currently enrolled in a nurse aide training program.
• Attend in‑service programs as assigned to learn procedures and meet state requirements.
