Job summary

Baptist Health - Central Alabama is seeking a Unit Clerk for the 1S Med/Surg weekends to provide essential clerical support to the patient care team. The PRN role assists Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and physicians in daily rounds and care handoffs.

You will handle unit documentation, patient transport coordination, and supply management while maintaining clear communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer at least 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with hospital systems.
• Strong communication and customer relations abilities.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate efficient unit operations and communication.
• Assist RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and physicians in patient care processes.
• Perform unit clerk duties as assigned to support care delivery.
