Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,890 - $1,940
• Job Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (Upstate New York healthcare jobs)
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Night: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Labor Day required
• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry Surge Unit (assigned at offer)
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 (days), 1:6 (nights), 1:5.5 (weekends)
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: 36 hours
  
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Recent acute care experience within the last 6 months
• Proficiency with Epic EMR (required)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Ability to manage patient ratios from 1:5 to 1:7
• Willingness to float to other units as needed
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
• No first-time US assignments
  
  

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, respond to rapid response calls, and perform peripheral line care
• Administer oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, face masks, portable tanks) and perform non-invasive airway management
• Implement isolation precautions and adhere to infection control protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and more
• Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR
• Float to other hospital units as required
• Participate in orientation and complete required modules prior to start
