Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is seeking a dynamic Medical Surgical RN to join our team. You will provide compassionate care to ill and recovering adults in a patient-centered model, perform assessments, and participate in collaborative care planning.

Qualified candidates hold a Florida RN license, BLS, and an ASN/ Nursing Diploma with 1 year of Acute Care experience. BSN preferred; NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 30 days of start date.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license required; multistate license accepted with Florida relocation within 60 days.
• BLS-AC Provider card required within 30 days of start date.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN preferred.
• 1 year RN experience in an Acute Care environment preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
• Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Analyze the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues.
• Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situation.
• Act as an advocate for patient safety.
• Educate patients regarding medications, procedures and treatments, and support families during the stay.
