Job summary

Woodland Heights Medical Center is seeking an RN to join our Med/Surg team on a PRN daytime schedule. The role focuses on patient-centered care, family education, and adherence to clinical protocols in a 149-bed community hospital in East Texas.

You will collaborate with physicians and nurses to ensure high-quality outcomes, perform medication administration, monitor patient status, and participate in performance improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state or compact state licensure.
• BCLS certification required.
• ACLS and PALS preferred; NRP preferred for neonatal care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with nursing process and organizational policies.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings accurately, reporting changes to care team.
• Administers prescribed medications, monitors for side effects, and documents administration.
• Assists physicians during procedures within the scope of competency.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in life-saving interventions as appropriate.
• Provides patient and family education on conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Maintains infection control protocols and safety standards.
