Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our 20-bed Med-Surg unit in St. Johnsbury, VT. This role delivers comprehensive nursing care across medical, surgical, pediatric, and swing bed patients, using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved RN School of Nursing.
• Current Vermont or multi-state RN license required.
• Current BLS from the American Heart Association required.
• Preferred certifications: Med/Surg Nursing, ACLS, and PALS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient care using the nursing process for medical, surgical, pediatric, and swing bed patients across all age groups.
• Ensure clinical safety and excellence through accurate medication administration, IV therapy, equipment operation, and adherence to evidence-based protocols.
• Educate patients and families with individualized teaching plans, coordinate discharge planning, and ensure continuity of care through referrals.
• Collaborate and lead within the interdisciplinary team while mentoring new staff and contributing to unit improvement initiatives.
