Job summary

Little Colorado Medical Center is seeking a Staff Nurse to perform initial and ongoing assessments, develop the patient plan of care, and coordinate discharge planning under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and Nursing Leaders.

The role requires Arizona licensure, BLS certification, good verbal and written communication, and the ability to deliver bedside care and educate patients and families; ACLS/PALS are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; graduate from accredited nursing program.
• Arizona State Nursing License or compact state licensure.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication; basic nursing skills.

Responsibilities

Description

The staff nurse, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, Nursing Managers and Chief Nursing Officer, is responsible for conducting the initial and on-going assessments, developing the patient plan of care through the use of Care plans (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation); directing and delivering patient care, patient and family education, identifying and correcting variances from the patients plan of care, and completing discharge planning. She/he is directly accountable to the Charge Nurse.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduate from an accredited nursing training program.
• Experience: None required but acute care experience preferred
• Specific Skills: Good verbal and written skills, ability to communicate effectively. Basic nursing skills
• Computer Skills: Moderate computer skills
• Licenses: Arizona State Nursing License or compact state licensure
• Certifications: BLS required. ACLS, PALS preferred
