Travel RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Registered Nurse)
• Location: Lancaster, SC 29720 (South Carolina nursing jobs)
• Unit: Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) – 6th Floor
• Shift: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (6:45pm – 7:15am); 3x12s may be considered
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570–$1680
• Patient Ratio: 1:6–1:7
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float: May float within scope to similar units or sister facilities
• Charting System: Epic
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue
• Parking: Free on-site parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Active South Carolina or Compact RN license (must be in hand prior to start)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (all required)
• Telemetry experience and proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation/management preferred
• Must complete all assigned modules prior to start date
• Attendance at staff meetings required
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Willingness to participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse diagnoses, including post-surgical, cardiac, respiratory, and infectious disease cases
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform wound care
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions
• Adhere to infection control protocols and isolation precautions
• Float to similar units as required to meet facility needs
